bradley burgess-donaleski discusses PPS

Hey y’all!

Friday, October 16th marks the kickoff of LOTC’s Pre-Game Play Series!!! PPS is Lights Out Theatre Company’s way of presenting  brand new works by unheard voices to our friends, neighbors, and comrades while enjoying a frosty beverage of the alcoholic variety.  As LOTC’s Lit Manager, I have been totally stoked about this project since it’s conception.  As a young(ish) theatre artist myself, I’m always refreshed to see how newer stuff plays on for an audience, and this is a great way for me to receive new submissions for LOTC as well as reading/hearing the fresh, exciting works my peers out there are coming up with…. while enjoying beer.

Here’s how it works:

New playwrights send me what they’re working on.  I read it, and store it in my big, important library, which has been lauded by some as “Big”, or even, “Really F***in’ Big”.   The artistic directors and I read over the submissions and figure out which one we want to have read for an audience of beer-drinkers at our next very cool PPS event-  did I mention there was beer?

So come on out for the reading/drinking!  This Friday, the 16th at 8pm, we’ll be reading Peter Sinn Nachtrieb’s Meaningless, a f***ing hilarious coming of age comedy chronicling a gay man’s struggle to find his own identity after his boyfriend leaves him to try his hand at breeding.  No fourth wall and no holds barred make this hysterical character driven comedy a must-see.   A suggested donation of fiver bucks gets you free beer (until it runs out).  We’d love for y’all to join us!

Interested in sending me your work?  Send it over to brad@lightsouttheatre.org

Thanks y’all!
